System Requirements

Operating System

MacVector requires Mac OS X 10.5 or above, including OS X 10.7 ("Lion"). MacVector does not run on Mac OS 9 ("Classic") or on Microsoft Windows based "PC" computers.

Hardware

Any Macintosh computer capable of running Mac OS X 10.5 or later is sufficient to run MacVector. MacVector runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh machines.

If you intend to take advantage of the Assembler Next Generation Sequencing support and perform alignments of many millions of reads against entire genomes, we recommend that you use a machine with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM, with 16 GB or more being preferable.
