Post How to reset start of sequence
I have search a sequence for open reading frames. MacVector shows one that starts at nucleotide #1 but that is not an ATG start site, even though it is suppose to find ORFS whose 5' end is a start codon. How can I reset the sequence numbering so that the #1 nucleotide is a different nucleotide in the sequence? In other words, how can I reset the start of the sequence, to any nucleotide within the sequence?

Thanks.

(Very delayed reply!)

In the Editor tab, just drag the red cross seen at the beginning of the sequence to where you want the numbering to start. After doing this all sequence before this red cross is numbered negatively.
