Which copy protection devices are supported?
Does MacVector support ADB copy protection devices (Eve key)?
MacVector standalone installations require a copy protection device plugged into the Mac on which the software is installed.
The current version of MacVector does not support ADB type Eve keys. If you have a USB port, then contact MacVector,Inc Customer Service to exchange your ADB key for a USB key.
MacVector 7.1 (and later) does not support the use of ADB type Eve keys because the application was rewritten to use the "Carbon" adapter library. "Carbon" is the technology that allows a single executable to run on both OS 9 and OS X. The carbonized Eve key driver used in the current version of MacVector only supports USB keys. Moreover, Apple has dropped support for ADB type devices and current versions of Apple computers lack ADB ports.
Your MacVector ADB copy protection device can be exchanged for a USB device free of charge. Contact Accelrys Customer Services by sending email to support@accelrys.com. The email should contain your MacVector license number, the serial number on your current Eve key, your telephone number, and your shipping address.
Users with older Macs which lack USB ports have two options:
1. Add USB ports via a third party PCI card.
2. Use network licensing which does not require a copy protection device.
