Using copy-paste to create new sequence files
MacVector does not allow me to copy and paste residues from other applications into a MacVector 7.x sequence file.
Make sure your sequence file is unlocked so that it can be edited. Patches for this problem are available for MacVector 7.0 and 7.1.
First make sure that the MacVector sequence file is not protected; i.e., the lock icon on the sequence file toolbar should be open. If your file in unlocked and the problem persists, then it may be due to a bug in your MacVector installation if you are using version 7.0 or 7.1.
A patch is available to correct these problems. The patch will only work on the version for which it is intended. Before downloading and installing the relevant patch, we suggest that you uninstall your current MacVector installation by dragging the MacVector folder to the trash can. Next, create a fresh MacVector installation by running the installer on the MacVector program CD. Finally, download and apply the patch to your fresh installation.
The patch for MacVector 7.0 is available on our Download page
After saving to your desktop, install the patch or updater by double-clicking on the icon.
