Problem updating MacVector 7.1.x or 7.2.x on OS X
Unable to update MacVector 7.1 or 7.2 under Mac OS X
When Mac OS X users try to update from MacVector 7.1 to 7.1.1, for example, the following error message appears:
An error preventing the updater from completing 11002:2,-5000 Access denied error
Change the ownership and permissions of the MacVector executable and library files
Use the following procedure to work around this problem:
1. Log on to your Mac using an account with admin privileges.
2. Find the MacVector 7.1.x or 7.2.x application file and do a Get Info (command-I) to bring up the Info dialog.
3. Click on the lock icon to allows changes to be made, then select the Ownership & Permissions tab and change the owner to yourself. You will be prompted for your admin password.
4. Change all the access permissions, particularly Others, to Read & Write.
5. Repeat the above steps for the MacVector Library file.
6. Rerun the updater.
What to do if the MacVector 7.2.2 updater fails with the error message "An error prevented the update from completing."
The MacVector 7.2.2 updater fails for some customers with the error message:
An error prevented the update from completing. 11002:2,-14
The best way to overcome this error is to uninstall MacVector by dragging it to the trash, then reinstall MacVector 7.1 or higher using the installer on the program CD. Once you have reinstalled MacVector from CD, try again to run the 7.2.2 updater.
