Running TBLASTX with the GenBank non-redundant database

Why can't I run TBLASTX on my nucleotide sequence against the nr database using Internet BLAST Search in MacVector?

TBLASTX search of the whole non-redundant (nr) GenBank database would be very cpu-intensive and so this is not an option available with the NCBI tool kit used in MacVector.

If you want to do a comprehensive search of the nucleotide database you will need to first translate your protein in all reading frames and then perform BLAST searches using each output sequence file.
