Bluetooth, USB hubs may be incompatible with MacVector Several MacVector 9 users with static (USB) licenses have reported that MacVector fails to respond several minutes after use and displays the following problem: "Apple talk has been turned off and consequently you no longer have access to the network copy protection device. You will be permitted to save your work before quitting this application. (-6002)." We've found that some USB hubs, used to connect multiple USB devices to a single USB port, can cause this problem. The solution in this case is to plug the MacVector USB key directly into a USB port bypassing the hub. This problem can also be caused by the use of Bluetooth technology (used with wireless mice, keyboards, headsets, printers, etc). This type of Bluetooth incompatibility problem is known to Apple. In many cases, Bluetooth has been enabled on the mac (apparently by default) but no wireless devices are being used. In these cases, disabling Bluetooth on the problem mac via System Preferences should resolve the problem. If the user needs to enable Bluetooth to use a wireless device with that mac, suggest that they ensure that they have the latest firmware updates for their device. They should also take a look at the Bluetooth updates available at following Apple web site: |
